Valerian Road - Stage 1 - Third Section
Dosso - Colpiano
Italy - Lombardy - Brescia
The third stretch of the first stage of the Valerian Road looks like a challenging stretch, but no less fascinating than the previous stretches.
4.1 Km
Difficulty Medium
How to arrive
The third section starts from a point where it is not possible to park, so you must leave your car in a parking area located just before the climb to Dosso (the same climb that you will remember well if you have also covered the second section).
The car park is located in “Via Valle 23-17 – Sale Marasino” (click here for the coordinates). Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the parking in question is subject to a fee. It is possible to buy the coupon at the Sale Marasino bar on the lakefront.
The way
The way that starts from Dosso is tiring from the first moment. You won’t even have time to warm up because the first important climb awaits you around the corner.
The path that you will find in front of you is with pebbles and step by step will accompany you in climbing the difference in altitude of 100 meters.
I am sure that by now these differences in height do not scare you anymore and in no time you will have arrived at the descent that will connect you with the hamlet of Massenzano.
The road that crosses Massenzano and the subsequent village of Vesto is very well maintained. Traveling it will be a real pleasure!
Passing from one village to another you will cross olive trees and tree-lined avenues. On the other hand, this area of Italy is famous for the production of extra virgin olive oil.
The last piece of road that crosses Vesto is paved and also has a ramp for the disabled.
After passing the village, you begin to get serious again with more challenging uphill sections. From this moment on, the climb will not abandon you until the final destination.
The first of these climbs is quite steep, but not very long. To make it easier to travel there are small steps.
At this point you will have almost reached the final goal of Colpiano. Before arriving, however, you will meet the center of Pregasso where there is a playground for children and a fountain with drinking water.
After passing this small inhabited center, the path resumes along a stretch of road with little traffic. The road is also flanked by a cycle path, therefore the transit of pedestrians is very safe.
Continue along this road until you reach Colpiano where you can finally say that you have also successfully completed this third section!
