Valerian Road - Stage 1 - Fourth Section
Colpiano - Zone
Italy - Lombardy - Brescia
The fourth stretch of the first stage of the Valerian Road offers a spectacle of nature with the natural pyramids that you will see right along the road.

How to arrive
Park your car in the city of Colpiano (click here for the coordinates). You will not have problems finding a place as there are several parking lots.
However, if you want to shorten the distances slightly and make the route a little shorter, then you can park along the road section. Leave the car next to the area where you see the sign in the photo on the right (click here for the coordinates).
I anticipate that the places are really limited, but with a bit of luck you might find one free.
In the next paragraph I’ll explain why I also propose the ‘short route’ option.
The way
If you have chosen to go all the way without jumping even a few meters, then the starting point will be Colpiano.
I state that this stretch is challenging, it is better to be a little trained to be able to overcome without problems the 350 meters of altitude that this path offers us.
You will not have many moments to take a breath, but between one natural beauty and another you will arrive at the destination without you noticing!
The path that starts from Colpiano, after crossing the road, immediately plunges into the woods. It is a rather peaceful piece of vegetation.
The next stretch that awaits you once you pass the last houses in the town, however, is a little isolated. You will see sheds and a path with tall grass.
I recommend that you skip this section especially if you are in the company of children or simply if the road does not give you too much safety. In this case, as announced above, you can start the journey by opting for the short version which is walkable without any problem.
After the more isolated path and after a couple of crossings of the provincial road (watch out for cars speeding by), you will arrive at the Piramidi Zone viewpoint.
Don’t worry, you will be able to see this point both in case you have chosen to do the whole route or the short one. In fact, it is from here that the short route begins.
The panorama in front of you was formed during the last glaciation, when Val Camonica was entirely covered by the glacier. Stop here to take a few photos before setting off again.
The road resumes inside a grove, usually also frequented by tourists who come to visit the pyramids. The stretch you will cross will take you to Cislano where there is an area equipped for children. A circular route around the pyramids also begins at the same point.
From here to Zone you will follow the asphalt road passing through the alleys and streets of the village located at 700m high.
If you have made it this far then you are almost on top of the summit!
