How to get there

To start the route you can park your car in this capacious parking lot right at the beginning of the road that will lead you to your destination.

The parking lot in question is located at “Piazza Europa 1 – Prato Sesia” (click here for coordinates).

The route

The route is not very long, suitable for families but without the use of strollers.

You start by starting from the village where you take a small road that will lead you into the streets of the village.

After this short section inside the village, you start to climb toward the castle. Be careful because the turn is not very intuitive and poorly signposted. As always, follow our GPX to avoid taking a wrong turn.

At this point the wooded section that will take you up to the bench will begin.

The first piece of this section looks like a fairly narrow section, given the very dense vegetation, but soon the path will widen allowing you to move lwith more freedom, without having to avoid the various plants present.

Past this piece the trail begins to climb steeply. We recommend that you equip yourself with mosquito sprays. Given the high humidity of the forest, it is very easy to find numerous hungry mosquitoes. 😅

Eventually the trail will become flat again on the last stretch.
Follow the signs to Castello di Sopramonte or follow our GPX to avoid missing the turn that is on the left.
Continue for one more flat section until you reach your destination.

Along the way you will see Sopramonte Castle, an area equipped with benches and a few games for children.

At the end of the road is our bench. From here you will be able to admire the Monte Rosa and Mischabel ranges.

We sincerely hope that when you get here, it will be a beautiful sunny day with little mist. That way you will certainly have a chance to fully admire the view and nature spread before your eyes!
