Blue Trail - Cinque Terre

Italy - Liguria - La Spezia

The Blue Trail is one of the most famous and spectacular hiking trails in the Cinque Terre.

We hiked it and were captivated by its beauty.
Every step is accompanied by a spectacular view of the Ligurian Sea.

One of those trails that you absolutely cannot miss

Le Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre are one of the most picturesque and famous areas in Italy, located along the coast of Liguria in the northwestern part of the country.
The name “Cinque Terre” refers to five charming villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

The Blue Trail runs through these very villages.

The route

The Blue Trail stretches for about 12 kilometers.

It winds along the Ligurian coast, giving you breathtaking views of the Ligurian Sea and its rugged coastline.

The trail varies in difficulty; some sections are easy and suitable for everyone, while others can be more challenging due to the unpaved terrain and steep climbs.

Steps

The Blue Trail is divided into 4 stages that allow you to visit all of Cinque Terre.

Each stage is one-way, but keep in mind that every village in the Cinque Terre is well served by trains. If you are a traveler who needs to return to your starting point in the evening, you can easily leave from one point and arrive at the final destination of your chosen stage. From there you can then take the train back to your starting point.

And now it is time to start this journey together….
