In Monferrato lies the big bench of Odalengo Grande.
Totally surrounded by nature, it looks down on the Piedmont hills from above.
Its yellow color is reminiscent of autumn colors.
This bench is also known as “La Tartufina”.

How to get there
Be extremely careful when entering the navigator. To get to the bench you have to set the point of the parking lot we indicate below but passing through the village of Vallarolo. This is the only possible way to get to the bench without any problems. Do not drive further because the road is dead end.
There is no dedicated parking lot but there is a space at “Via Vallarolo, 19 – Vallarolo” (click here for coordinates) where you can leave your car and start the route.
The route
Starting from the parking lot there will be a short first section on a paved road.
Past the houses, the road will point toward some vineyards. There you will have to take a dirt path that climbs to the left (see photo).
The road will begin to climb and you will finally begin to see some signs of the big bench.
You will pass by some lush vineyards. If you pass by here in late summer, you will also be lucky enough to see grapes completing their ripening! You will have a chance to admire this wonder at close range.
After a determined and final climb up the dirt road you will arrive at the bench in Odalengo Grande. From here you will be able to admire the Piedmont hills from a rather elevated position.
As you sit on the bench, you will realize that you have nothing but nature around you.
A really peaceful place that will be able to give you a feeling of relaxation and calm.
The only thing audible will be the essence of the earth that emanates from this place.
