Make your way to the Voltiano Lighthouse from where you will enjoy a wonderful view.
Stop for an aperitif at one of the local bars and go home afterwards with a smile on your face.

How to get there
The route to reach the Voltiano Lighthouse in Brunate starts right from the small town of Brunate.
This town is a little gem of the Como area where there are, however, very few parking spaces, but don’t worry, we’ll give you some suggestions!
Brunate can be reached from Como by funicular railway.
In that case, we advise you to leave your car here.
Alternatively, you can reach the starting point by a route that also starts from Como.
We are talking about the San Donato ascent. You can find all the details right here.
This is the solution we prefer!
And you being a true trekker, we are sure you will follow us.
The route
The route starts from the Brunate funicular following a well-maintained mule track all the way uphill.
Despite the climb it is an easy walk, perfect for a Sunday with the family on a nice day. It is not a complicated path to follow, except at a turn we point out in our photo above. Be careful at the turn so you don’t take a wrong turn.
After about a kilometer uphill and 200 meters of elevation gain you will come to a small parking lot where on the left you will see the last steps to the voltiano lighthouse.
When you arrive at your destination you will see what a beautiful view before your eyes!
It is also possible to go up to the lighthouse. There is a fee for access, at the time we went (spring 2023) the cost was a couple of euros per person.
We preferred not to enter the lighthouse because we were enchanted by the view from up here.
Info and advice
The route being very simple is passable by everyone, even by children or with strollers.
There is no ideal time of the year, the voltiano lighthouse can be visited at any time of the year. The only advice we feel like giving you is to choose a day when there is not too much haze in order to enjoy a better view.
